Who am I Louise Holman Clarke.
The inspiration for firefusionbylou?
It comes from a combination of the firing or fusing processes I work with.
I like to make silver Jewellery in a kiln with metal Clay.
The product that excites me for my Jewellery pieces
The metal clay I use is Art Clay Silver 999 fine silver and Art Clay Silver 950 sterling which are the brand names, for the clay I use made in Japan. This manufactured silver clay is made from recycled silver products so is also great for the environment!
Texture is everything with Metal clay & I am very excited to experiment with many ideas and patterns creating texture mats
On the left is an example of a cuff bracelet I made as a special 50th birthday present. The picture on the left is also of the dried silver before firing, and the results after firing on the right.
About Me
I live in a small rural town Heathfield .......in the beautiful countryside of East Sussex in the United Kingdom. My work is inspired by the countryside around me and the sea. Hastings was my home town from birth, a seaside town in East Sussex. I live not far from other seaside towns and cities such as Eastbourne and Brighton in Sussex.
Over past few years I have taken courses in the art of Metal Clay with Learn silver clay on line and the silver clay school alongside classes in Metalsmithing. I learnt about making beautiful Jewellery with Metal Clay.
I am passionate about animals and nature and I love travelling and cultures. I try to capture their essence in my work.
I make texture mats for metal clay enthusiasts like myself using a laser.
